After starting 2015 with the Boston Children’s Chorus and their annual MLK Celebration concert, the rest of the year is shaping up to be full of new experiences and guest appearances. Having already traveled to Delaware to conduct their Middle School All-State, I will be making a second trip there to work with the ACDA Children’s All-State Chorus. The students of Delaware are so enthusiastic, I cannot wait to return.
In mid February filming began for the new television series “Sing That Thing!”. I will be playing the role of host and I am so excited for the opportunity. There are some fantastic choirs involved and you will have to tune into WGBH to find out what happens (Yes, there is a little drama!). Show begins airing next month!
I will be making an appearances at the National American Choral Directors Association national conference in Salt Lake City Utah and later in the spring, visits to both New Hampshire (All State High School Chorus) and Vermont (ACDA Children’s Honor Choir).
Lastly, the Boston Children’s Chorus is inviting in grammy nominated conductor Julian Wachner for our Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum concert at the end of March.
In times of conflict and war, art can serve as a space for meditation and reflection, as well as a reminder of humanity’s fundamental impulse toward the creation of beauty. This award-winning group presents a diverse repertoire, composed in response to conflict—to advocate for the elusive ideal of peace and the courage required to achieve it.
It certainly is shaping up to be a busy second half to the year. Check back later for more details and photos.
